January 31st, 2010 Jhon Comments off

Chrome

In order to attract developers’ attention, a few days ago Google set up a reward program for who find a bug with Chrome browse and receive up to $1337 reward.

Previously, Firefox also launched a similar program that rewards $500 for each bug. Today, Google followed the plan, but the reward is range from $500 to $1337 based on the extension of the problem.

According to Research Company-Net Applications statistic data, at the end of December, Chrome market coverage is a little more than Apple’s Safari for the first time upto the third place. Chrome current market share of 4.63%, while Safari is 4.46%.

Google says many of the bugs are found by third-party developers. So this program will help to further enhance the security of Chrome.

I like Google this program, not only does it can improve the security of Chrome, but also it can support some programmer to do much better work. What do you think? If you a good developer, you can also get the reward! I think it is little to do with the money, but it is your fame!

Google will End IE 6 Support

January 31st, 2010 Jhon Comments off

Google

Recently Google will end IE 6 support, if you are still using IE 6 browser, you would need to update to a new version or head to some other browsers such as Firefox, Chrome. From Google announcement they will officially end to support for IE 6 and other old browsers beginning in March.

This may have relation with the former attack against Google site from IE 6, and of course Google need to do some thing to keep their security. I think there are some reasons more. Think about that IE 6 is nearly a decade old, ten years for internet develop is a long time, but there are still many visitors use IE 6. From the statistic date of my site, there are about 40~50% visitors using IE 6, so it is time for the IE 6 retirement.

According to Google announcement, Google will stop supporting IE 6 and other old browsers in Google Docs and Google Sites in March and Gmail and Google Calendar later on in the year. They will supporte browsers include IE 7 and above, Firefox 3 and above, and Safari 3 and above and Google Chrome.

Yes it is time to throw IE 6 away into the trashcan. It doesn’t means we are just like the latest products. IE 6 is the best product in the past, and the IE 6 time is past. The whole web step will never stop, and we would like to follow the step.

I think some people don’t like to update their wares. They claimed that they are used to utilize the older version, if do some great change they will not find the buttons. Just like me, but now I like to do some upgrade. The new version must contain some new features or fix some bugs.

If you are still use IE 6, you can install IE 7 or above version, or Firefox, chrome.

Sometimes I will complain that if I do spend money so much? Where do my neighbors spend their money? Or my colleagues, my friends whose income is in the same line with me? Sometimes I really want to do some comparison, but it will be embarrassing to ask question such as that.

So a fascinating site called Bundle, a new online service, can give you the answer to these questions. Bundle compiled detailed statistics about how Americans are spending their daily money from the cooperation with Citi and other third-party data suppliers.

Bundle’s data mostly comes from credit card shopping by Citi, the company doesn’t currently have enough data to compare rents or mortgage payments. Bundle currently is doing its best to get more data. So you can easily access to this information.

You just need to enter your information, including age, income, location and your marriage state. Then Bundle will do all the work for you, creating an information chart that shows the spending pattern of similar families in your neighborhood. And of course, you can go deeper into the statistics. It is amazing that Bundle can display where people are spending their money.

Besides the statistic graphic, you can also do some compare and contrast. Bundle also offers you to compare with different cities and neighborhoods.

What do you think about Bundle’s this service? What’s your viewpoint? For one side, it is really an interesting service for users to do some compare and contrast on the spending money, and you can see what your neighbors purchase even the store’s name. But for the other side, your privacy is open totally!
