Google Chrome OS Review
After using the Google chrome operating system in my virtual PC —VMware. I would like to make a review to share some experience about this Google product.
Google OS use the Google account, such as you Gmail account, to log in the whole system instead of the local user without the traditional concept of local use system. So at the beginning you need to make sure your computer has the access to Internet, and also you can log in with an offline account. After you log in the chrome system, there is nothing but a chrome browser with no other functions. This Operating System keep all your data on the Google servers and all application softwares are depending on web service. In brief, Google Chrome OS is an all function browser from my standpoint.
From my viewpoint, there is no need to download this new operating system to the normal people. You can just install the Chrome Browser, and they are almost the same.
From the news of Google, starting the newest Chrome OS can only takes you 7 seconds. Compared to windows OS, it is really impressive. Because the Chrome OS stores all date at the Google servers, you can do you work without hard disk.
From my experience, it will be difficult in the stability and availability of your whole system without local data system. If only you have the access to the internet, you can read, write, and change your document and files. If you are off line, you can do nothing. Especially, in some developing countries, the internet service is not so good to take this service. You may be cut off or the online speed is so bad that can lead some terrible results. So I believe that store your data in your local PC disk is the safest way.
Google is a super company, and the Chrome OS is a definitely a good idea. Maybe this is the operating system developing trend.
