Microsoft Release Official Bing Maps
Microsoft announced that they are making the Bing Maps Sliverlight beta version into the official version. This program has taken so long time, hoping supply us a good maps. Now you head to Bing.com, then you can see the maps service.
Additionally, Microsoft also announced two new products for Bing Maps: an events app and Destination Maps.
Destination Maps is an interesting additional function to the Bing Maps service. You can easily make a map of driving directions to a particular place when your friends ask you for help with this application. And you can also choose the map type as showing by the side.
Bing’s new Local Events application displays the locations of local events on the map.
Now we have another choice besides Google Maps. However Google is still providing some better functions. Google offers slightly better maps so you can get as many details as possible, especially if you are planning to walk or to take public transport.
Even Bing Maps is a little lower, I think it is a good news. The competition between Google and Microsoft will drive the development of online maps forward.
