HD5830 official information exposured
From September last year, ATI began to launch its full range of DirectX11 graphics card, so far they already have four core Cypress, Juniper, Redwood, Cedar from high to low performance. However, in order to get more market share rate, each core will be divided into several sections. So RadeonHD5830 appeared as the middle product between RadeonHD5800 series and RadeonHD5700.
According to the current news, the new RadeonHD5830 prices will not be less than 200 dollars, expected to be between 200-250 U.S. dollars. RadeonHD5850 currently sells for 300-350 dollars, while RadeonHD5770 at around 150-200 U.S. dollars, so the emergence of RadeonHD5830 fill the huge price gap between RadeonHD5850 and RadeonHD5770.
RadeonHD5830 use 40nm process as the core of Cypress as same as the RadeonHD5850/5870, but somewhat simplified in the core specification. RadeonHD5830 has 1120 stream processor units. Texture unit simplify from RadeonHD5850 72 to 56, raster processor reduced from 32 to 16.
However, to our surprise is that the core operating frequency of RadeonHD5830 is higher than RadeonHD5850 up to 800MHz, while memory parameters is the same as RadeonHD5850 that is 256-bit 1GB GDDR5 memory with 4000MHz frequency. So the performance of RadeonHD5830 will be almost the same as RadeonHD5850.
As the operating frequency increased, RadeonHD5830 power consumption is higher than RadeonHD5850, approximately 175W. In addition Eyefinity functions, compared with normal three screen output, RadeonHD5830 is up to six-screen output, but this requires special version of the multi-interface support.
