Make Your Windows 7 laptop into a WiFi hotspot
Sometimes you may need to establish WiFi hotspot to share the network connection for other wireless devices. Now let me show you that how to use the Connectify to achieve this great function.
In my experience there is only one cable interface to get internet connection in some places such as hotel, conference room, etc. however you need to share with other people or other device with the only one network connection. So Connectify free software can solve this problem that make your Windows 7 PC to achieve this function of sharing your internet interface.
ATTENTION: Connectify only works with Windows 7 Home and above, Starter is not supported.
The installation for Connectify is easy, after the installation, you can start it at the taskbar.
Establish the name and password in the setting box, and then select the network connection model and Connectify supports LAN mode, VirtualBox Host-Only mode, wireless network connection and only to share access not connect to the network which you can see from the drop-down menu. Then click Start Hotspot button.
Now we can see that Connectify is running, you can start to use other devices to connect through this hot links. Now we can in our XP system search this wireless network and connect to network.
The next steps are ordinary, enter the password, and then click Connect button.
After the connection, you can see the state on the XP computer is connected on the environment created by Windows 7 called Geek-fi network.
In our testing, the signal strength and connection speed is both good. It depends on the hardware performance what you used to receive and transmit signals. Generally speaking, if you need to build up a wireless hotspot at any time, Connectify will be the best choice.
