So far, so good.,

Arrived today in great condition. I bought this as an alternative to a super expensive iPad to use at college instead of lugging my heavy laptop every day. The initial charge to 100% takes quite some time, I’ve been charging it for about 4 hours now and it’s only at 60%, but I’ve also been using it during that time, so that probably isn’t helping much. It runs just like an android phone, only on a much larger screen.
First off, you have to set the date and time, and if you use the weather widget, change it from Beijing, however, I can’t figure out how to change it from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Maybe redownloading the widget will help. It is in English, so you don’t have to worry about figuring out how to change the language from Chinese, which is nice. Unlike the reviews I’ve seen on similar apads, the android market is pre-installed, so as soon as you are hooked to your wi-fi you can start plunking apps down. I highly suggest ordering two 16GB mini-SD cards to go with it, the android OS takes up a little over half of the 2GB internal HD. After you set the time and the weather widget, calibrate the screen from the settings menu. I didn’t do that and was having issues using the on screen keyboard until I did so. Now it responds just fine to my touch.
I’ve seen on reviews for similar products that you need to use a stylus or a fingernail to manipulate the screen, but that’s not so with this one. Your fingerpad works just fine. It’s not a multi-touch screen, but hey, it’s only $200, so you can’t have everything, but the screen size is big enough that you really don’t need it, plus it does have a zoom option.
Don’t purchase an iPad case and try to use it for this. It won’t work. iPad’s have a 9.7″ screen where this one has a 10.2″. You’d be better off buying a case for a netbook. Later on I’m going to hook up a USB mouse and keyboard and see how the system responds. I’ll update my review after I’ve played with it some more, but so far, I really like it.

|I went from frustrated to happy!,
I, like most people ordered this Superpad tablet because of the PRICE, the HUGE screen size, and for necessity. When I first received this product, I was dumbfounded. The only thing working for me was the USB port/flash drive. Two days I was frustrated because I couldn’t down load anything, I got no response from the developer ( I sent him 3 emails), and the widgets were so stupid. But, soon, after some trial and error I figured things out.
YOU MUST HAVE micro SD card in order to use the Market or download. The video is good. Size is great and the downloads are pretty fast. Once I figured out how this tablet worked and believe me, it wasn’t easy…I’m happy now with this purchase. I didn’t want to pay 600 bucks for a USB port less IPAD. This product has 2 USB ports and 2 SD ports. I would suggest others to buy. The youtude video also works great. Not slow at all. I think I will get my son one for his Birthday.

|We have a long way to go…..,
I purchased this device and feel a little mis-lead. Although if you look at the specs it does NOT say “MULTI-TOUCH” but read the description it says Android 2.1 (which this unit has) allows multi-touch… Well.. yes Android 2.1 does “allow” for it… but the device also needs to “support” it, which this device does NOT…
Unfortunately multi-touch is HUGE when it comes to the benifit of these devices. Without it you can not zoom in and out easily (you have to use the +/- zoom to do that… just does not work smoothly. I would say NOOOO comparison to the I-PAD.. The I-PAD multi-touch is sooo smooth and the screen is super clear. This machine the touch is … ok (not great) and the screen is readable… but not great.
GPS… ha… well yes it has a “connector” and an external antenna/receiver… not very usable for the portable market… I have an Android phone that has GREAT GPS in a much smaller size than this thing… they couldn’t fit it in ??? come on ..
Charging…. uuuuugh… come on USB charging has been around forEVER guys…. this propriotary charger is horrible..
Didn’t notice this at first ..but NO BLUETOOTH either….
The ports are great.. haven’t tried them all yet but the ethernet works, microSD and usb works for thumbdrive, mouse and keyboard.
DON’T BOTHER IF YOU NEED:
– A Crystal clear screen
– Multi-touch
– GPS built in (don’t want to carry a receiver around)
– Super sensitive touch response
– 3G via SIM card
– A standard usb charger
– A bluetooth option
– A Netflix app (in progress though I hear)
GREAT IF YOU NEED:
– Extra storage / removable storage
– Multiple Internet conn. options (wifi,ethernet,3G via modem)
– To check email
– To test / play with apps
– A cheap Internet Tablet for kitchen/kids
– To plug in mouse/keyboard
NOTE:
works very well with mouse and keyboard (just wish it was bluetooth. I even used a wireless dongle for a wireless keyboard and mouse.. Worked GREAT.
The unit is much better than other Android Tabs I have seen… but I think there are better yet to come especially with Android 3.0 release
