x120e,
I was nervous at first because this is the base model and 1gb of memory was too slow to do pretty much anything. I ordered more memory (two 2gb) which was extremely easy to install (only 3 screws to remove entire back panel). The laptop is running a lot smoother now and I can have multiple internet pages up easily. Facebook flash games load with no problem and that was an issue with a Samsung netbook I had.
The build quality is great. The keyboard took a little bit of time to adjust to because I’m not use to having a trackpoint (which is actually nice to have). Heat isn’t an issue with this laptop – I’ve watched a movie on Netflix and it didn’t seem warm at all after two hours. Battery life isn’t great compared to the netbook I had. With the screen brightness turned down nearly all the way (it gets very dim!) it was saying I had 3.5hrs left. I haven’t really tested if that is accurate time estimation or not. Trackpad is just awful. Scrolling is slow to respond and the multi touch functions work only half the time. I’ve gotten use to it now and widened the area to use for scrolling and disabled some options to make it usable.
Pros
- Size
- Keyboard feels great and easy to clean
- Matte everything – no fingerprints or glare!
- HDMI works perfectly to hook up to a TV to watch shows online
- 3 USB ports
- Comes with Windows 7 Home Premium and not starter edition like a lot of netbooks
Cons
- Battery life (better battery can be bought)
- Speakers are on the bottom edge of the laptop
- Trackpad is one of the worst even after adjusting the settings

|Stay away from the base version of this model,
Netbook looks nice out of the box and is pretty decent compared to others but don’t expect to do much other then simple web surfing and even that, only after you increase the 1gig ram. I am a user who likes having many pages open and do several tasks simultaneously and unfortunately that is too much ask from a single core processor.
